What is Homeopathy?

Last year leading pharmacy Boots revealed that they didn’t believe homeopathic medicine works. Yet, despite this confession and repeated clinical trials which prove that homeopathy produces the same results witnessed in placebo tests, the National Health Service still spent more than £4 million in 2009 developing homeopathic medicines. So, what is homeopathy? By Natural Slimming
Astonished by the National Health Services and Boot’s ‘no harm’ attitude to homeopathy, over 300 skeptics are now planning to take part in a mass homeopathic binge to help increase public knowledge about the fact that homeopathy is ineffectual.
During this demonstration which is set to take place on the 30th January 2010, all those actively involved in the protest will publicly swallow a complete bottle of homeopathic pills to show that they are nothing more than fakes as well as encourage pharmacies to stop selling them
What is Homeopathy?
Described by many as ‘herbal medicine’ most of the ingredients found within this commonly accepted complementary medicine are so dilute that there is nothing medicinal about them.
Yet further background checks into the birth of homeopathy has unveiled that there is nothing medicinal about it, but that it is purely based on three medical concepts produced in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann. That beliefs are still used today:
- The Law of Infinitesimals where the more diluted the remedy is from water, the more potent it will be
- The Law of Succession where vigorous stirring of a homeopathic solution would further increase its concentration
- The Law of Similars the theory where the cause of your symptoms can also cause them i.e. taking caffeine to cure sleep deprivation
Reviewing this historical background, it is easy to see why skeptics of homeopathy are requesting that the government to order the NIHCE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) to evaluate whether it is appropriate for the NHS to promote homeopathic remedies. Providing restricted if any results, all clinical trials have the same conclusion that they will not boost your well-being and health. I hope you have now better insight in what is homeopathy and does homeopathy works.
