If you eat large meals throughout the day, the foods included in your entrees may contain a high fat content. High fat foods have a tendency to remain in the stomach and take a much longer time to digest than lower fat menu selections. You should instead snack on smaller portions throughout the day with items low in fat and high in complex carbohydrates.

How to still be satisfied with smaller portions?

Very simple! Spend more time eating and enjoying your meals. Linger long enough to know when you are full, and then you’ll stop eat sooner.

That way you will be able to taste everything from appetizer, to the main course and to dessert without adding extra pounds. You could still eat everything you want still, our body is able to burn all the calories taken in without leaving an extra to be stored as fat. With a proper diet that enables you to eat balanced meals and enjoy all foods you can lose weight quickly, easily and safely.

Also, do not eat everything in front of you.  It’s nothing wrong with leftovers. Usually, you already took enough food before you cleaned up everything on the plate.  But your brain need some time to  feel satiety.  So, just leave some food and give your brain  a bit of extra time.

Here’s a few tips how could you control size of your meals:

1. Always start a meal with a large salad or bowl of broth-based soup.

2. Eat from a plate, not straight from the container. That lets you see how much you are eating.

3. Section Your Plate. When you sit down to eat, imagine splitting your plate into 4 sections:

4. Prolong your meals by serving several courses – say, salad and dessert. Clear the dishes in between. The longer it takes you to eat, the more time your stomach has to tell your brain that you’re full.

5. Keep telling to yourself: ”Small portions look prettier on a plate, too much food makes me feel bad, too much keeps me away from other things that I love, just enough saves money … ”

6. If you still want to eat more, choose vegetables or other low-calorie foods.
